Building in the Community w/ Khadijah

The LxVE Collective

I am encouraged this morning. After spending the morning planting trees with the middle schoolers from Centennial Middle School, I had a chance to catch up with my good friend Khadijah Austin caught who paused to pose down this beautifully lush road hidden in southwest Atlanta.

While chatting her words resonated with me, “I gave up so much to be where I am today. I have to keep building.”

They reminded me of a music video/short film Rick Ross, Two Chainz and Gucci Mane made created called Buy Back the Block. After a glancing through the comments of the video, I learned that Minster Farrakhan has been meeting with members of the hip-hop community and my guess is that the fruits of those talks can be found in this record.

As the skit in the intro suggests, buy the car wash. And if you are going to buy the car wash, buy the gas station. And if you are going to buy the gas station then you might as well buy the whole block. #ExperTease
